Description

Abell 1656 is a large cluster of galaxies in the constellation Coma Berenices.  This cluster contains over 1000 galaxies.  The mean distance to this cluster is about 300 million light years.  Most of the galaxies in this cluster are elliptical galaxies.  The cluster is dominated by the two bright giant elliptical galaxies NGC4874 and NGC4899.  A map of these galaxies can be found at:
