Description

NGC 3324 is also called the Gabriela Mistral Nebula, because of the striking resemblance with the Nobel Prize winning Chilean poet, who was born in the same region of Chile that is home to CTIO.

NGC 3324 is in the NW corner of the Eta Carina Nebula (NGC 3372).
